Tell me about the story of the band!
The band was born in 2014 when Stefano, René, Fabrizio and Matteo (each one coming from a different band) started doing rehearsals and writing new material for a new project. Later that year, the formation was completed when Simone, the singer, joined the band. Although we initially came from different musical backgrounds, we all shared the love for metalcore, hardcore, metal and all that is heavy and mindblowing.

What did you do in the last six months?
During the last six months we’been pretty busy: we signed under This Is Core Records and shortly after released our first official videoclip “Delete Future/Erase Past”, as well as we recorded our first 5 pieced EP named “Cross” and played with dozens of bands, including some of the major Italian bands like Mellowtoy and Destrage.

What have you got in your wallet now?
At the moment we’re promoting the EP, also trying to play as many gigs as possible and searching for collaborations with other bands in our local area. In the meanwhile we’re busy writing some new stuff for a new Full Length Cd, which will be hopefully released at the end of this year, along with a new video.

Why have you chosen this name for your band?
We wanted a name that truly reflected our music and our way of thinking: direct and straightforward but yet different. The metaphor of the vulture stands for the way we conceive the music, trying to rise above what is fashionable and make something different.

How important is the look/appearance for your band?
Being an underground band means you have to promote your music on the social medias. As well as producing good quality music, has became crucial the way you present it to the public, so we constantly enrich our band page with photos, videos, special features.

Tell us about the new EP “Cross”. Are you fully satisfied with it?
We are extremely satisfied. “Cross” is our first work together and we managed to create the music we had in mind since the beginning.

Which is the highest point of the EP?
The most important feature of the entire EP is maybe its variety. We all have different musical backgrounds, and in the EP you can really retrace all the influences that every single member brought in.

…And the low point?
The only regret we have is that we had to make only an 5 Piece work, when in reality we had enough material to write a full CD. But the time was short and in the end we opted for the EP.

How would you define your sound?
The sound is a perfect mix between the heaviness of modern metal (breakdowns, single string riffing)together with some extra features like odd time signatures, clean guitars, melodic arrangements and electronic stuff, due to the fact that we all have different musical influences and backgrounds.

Metalcore. Describe for me this word! And what do you think, is a good compromise to describe your style?
Yes, we are mainly a metalcore band, you can hear that from our songs: they are aggressive, direct and heavy, inspired by old e new school metal, but they do also have some extra features that go beyond metalcore itself.

Which bands have influenced your style?
We are used to listen to all kind of music but if we picked up the bands that inspired us the most they would definitely be Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, the mighty Pantera, and also Killswitch Engage.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
The concept of happiness is simple: play as much as possible. When we play and we see people enjoying our music, well, that, for us, is the best reward we could imagine.

Tell me some of the bands you admire.
We especially like at this wave of new metalcore bands which come from UK likes Architects and While She Sleeps and so on…

What song is in your head right now?
We saw the last Bring Me The Horizon gig in Wembley… When they played “The house of wolves” it’s totally blew up our minds. That show is insane!

And of your local music scene?
In Italy there are very few possibilities for underground bands, but something is changing. In our local scene what is wrong is that bands, which are supposed to be a big peaceful family, are instead in perpetual struggle with each others. And for what? Just to increase your Facebook page of 50/100 likes. It’s useless.

What is the most embarrassing situation you’ve ever been with Vultures?
In February we played a Gig in Verona: our hometown. The same day, René (guitar) graduated at the university. Fortunately he arrived at the venue just in time to play, he was drunk and wearing the same suit, jacket and tie he had when he graduated early that afternoon.

Have you got a good reason to be in Behind Magazine?
We wanted to make you know who we are and present our Music. We hope you’ll enjoy it.

Have you got something to add?
We’re currently working hard to find our own way as a band. Nevertheless, we always keep in mind that we play because is what we really love to do, we hope that one day our efforts and dedication will pay off.
