Talk to me about the story of the band!
Our band started about one year ago with Daniel, Lorenzo and Giulio. In the summer of 2013 we released two singles, and in November Alberto and Giuseppe joined the band. In January 2014 we signed to This Is Core Music. Our first official video for our single “A monster behind a mask” was released on April 18th. After a few months spent in recording and writing, on July 15th our first EP called “ A monster behind a mask” came out, and now we are practicing in our session room, and meanwhile we are writing new stuff for our next album.

What did you do in the last six months?
We wrote our EP, printed t-shirts and produced physical copies. We played a lot in our session room too, and now we are ready for our upcoming tour and live shows.

What have you got in your wallet now?
Money, two guitars picks and Kebab discounts

Why have you chosen this name for your band?
It represents our main object. We’d like to play far from Italy to bring our music to other countries, gain new fans, travel and tour miles away from our country, where the metal scene isn’t enhanced enough.

How important is the look/appearance for your band?
Well, it is important for the band members to find their own look, and show their personality.

Tell us about the new EP “A monster behind a mask”. Are you fully satisfied with it?
Actually we aren’t fully satisfied. There are many things that we would change if we could, because the result is not exactly what we expected.

Which is the highest point of the EP?
We think we wrote cool riffs and catchy melodies and chorus!

…And the lowest point?
We didn’t write an EP that could be considered original, maybe because it was our first album.

How would you define your sound?
We are influenced by Californian metalcore style, so we are heavy but melodic at the same time!

Metalcore. Describe for me this word!
It’s a genre based on breakdowns, screams and growls vocal techniques, heavy guitars and loud drums, all completed by melodic chorus.

Which bands have influenced your style?
Memphis May Fire, Attila, Asking Alexandria for sure.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
As a band, we would love to live our lives thanks to our passion, sing to an important rec-ord label, and play in huge festivals and live shows with the biggest bands of the scene.

Tell me some of the bands you admire.
We have different tastes. In general the band we admire the most is Memphis May Fire.

What song is in your head right now?
“About that life” by Attila… Definetly sick!

Name 3 words that describe your band.
Young, Angry and motivated.

Which are the best and the worst qualities of your band?
We are really close friends, so everything is easier, but we still have to grow up and sometimes we are afraid to take important decisons.

And of your local music scene?
We appreciate that there are a lot of motivated and brave bands, but the italian scene is also full of angry sharks that think only about making money and talk shit about other bands.

What is the most embarrassing situation you’ve ever been with Thousand Miles Away?
When we didn’t release our EP on time because of many technical problems. We still apologize with our fans for that!

Have you got a good reason to be in Behind Magazine?
We want to spread the voice about our band and lead our fans to Behind Magazine, so they can discover new bands.

Have you got something to add?
A huge thanks to Behind Magazine, keep supporting us and the underground scene, there are a lot of cool bands out there! Take it easy and live with your passions.
