What did you do in the last six months?
Hi everybody first…So, we’ve been working on new stuff you know, since we have been concentrated on the release of “Resting Place Of Illusion” album we never stopped promoting, playing live and writing new songs. It takes a lot of effort supporting original music these days…

What do you’ve in your wallet now?
Well, let me say…in our wallets? Literally we’ve just debts to pay the studio, promotion, cds and so on! No, just jokin’…We are really into writing new songs and searching for good ideas and locations for the next video…We saw that “Ice Queen” catches the audience…So, maybe it will be our next step.

Why this name for your band?
“Replosion” is the acronym of “Resting Place Of Illusion”… We took inspiration from a psychological concept, quite tricky…That concept was interpreted and turned into something related to our idea of making music…Consider an area where you create and decide the reality, no matter if it has real links to the actual one. You don’t discriminate between what comes from your mind and the real experience you share with other people…kind of weird, anyway, we think this condition it’s a key factor to be original and free musicians…

How much important is the image (look) for your band? Why?
The look plays its role of course, it is one of the ingredients of a recipe…we feel different from those black dressed, cynic, bad bands seen over the last 10 years…We’d like to share with the audience a new and positive attitude…you can watch much farther through clear skies…that’s how we wanna look like…

Talk to me about the new album “The Resting Place Of Illusion”. Are you fully satisfied?
It’s our first album and we are very proud of it. Sure, many things could have been done in different ways, maybe better maybe worse…The sound is powerful and clear, we tried not to exceed with editing processes as we decided to be a little closer to our real performance…today musicians “play” like computers…We think it’s time to get back to human-musicians…

Which is the highpoint of this album?
We think our genre is the real reason to put the CD on your car. It’s easy to mistake our music…we don’t try to imitate the progressive masters…we just do regular songs (not forced twelve-minutes suites) with some prog, power, thrash influences…It’s the combination of elements that we consider different from other bands…we still have much work to do of course, but the real objective is to achieve our own “speech”…You can’t invent anything new, maybe, but you can try do it your own way…

…And the lowpoint?
The lowpoints are all those parts that sound like something else than Replosion…of course you first have to listen carefully to the whole album, otherwise you’ll always get the impression we are imitating someone.

How long did it take for this album?
Too much…actually this is another lowpoint…ahahah…it would take the whole interview explaining this point!

Talk to me about your collaboration with Dysfunction Records!
I have to say we had a good production team able to listen to our ideas and mix them with their needs as producers. They had a different musical background, we had a different approach to composition…so, after arguing sometimes…we developed a very original and fruitful cooperation.

What’s your idea of perfect happiness?
Well, when you wake up and think “Thanks God for this day”, or if you don’t believe in god, when you are thankful for every moment you live…

Who are some of the bands you admire?
Too many to be mentioned…anyway…starting from the past of Queen, King Crimson, Deep Purple…moving further with Opeth, Savatage, first 3 albums of Angra, Dream Theater…including also current artists such as Hardcore Superstar, Avenged Sevenfold or some pop singers…jazz and latin stars…really too many great artists that will always be part of us.

What song is in your head right now?
“These are the days of our lives” – Queen, I was watching a rockumentary on the Queen five minutes ago…anyway it is my favourite band and I’m one of the many orphans of Freddie, my main singer and inspiration.

Name 3 words that describe your band.
Fresh, Prog-oriented and \m/

The best and worst quality of your band?
Everyone is very open with each other during the composition process, we really mix our five influences…that’s the good quality. The worst is related to the previous one, sometimes we are likely to lose our bearings…

What’s the most embarrassing situation you’ve ever been with the members of the band?
No doubts about-it…when we were twenty and looking for a bass player…One day a forty years old jazz bass-player came into our rehearsal room saying “let’s play guys, come on, tell me the chords and play!”…we were playing the song “Resting Place Of Illusion”, the instrumental part…listen to it…it has lots of odd time signatures…That guy thought we were a straight 4/4 metal band…you can understand what the hell came out…3 minutes of pure embarrassment…

What’s the most ridiculous rumour you’ve read about the band?
No rumors about us…if we hear about rumors it means we are famous…Wait for that day! Ahahah..

Do you’ve a good reason to be in Behind Magazine?
If we are asked to talk about our stuff…I guess we have-it!
