What did you do in the last six months?
In the last six months we went through major changes and events starting from the line-up renewal. The recording of our new EP “Light Up The World” has been a main element in order to begin a cooperation with the label ThisIsCore, and permitted us to achieve wide approvals from peer reviews. We practiced really hard in order to play live and make a real show, then we started looking for and playing at some gigs, from which we received really positive feedbacks, even better than we were expecting! We are now over with the shootings of our new videoclip and as soon as it is released we will put all our efforts to get the best out of it.
What do you’ve in your wallet now?
Let me see… 20 euros! We have many things which are going on and we can’t tell about all of them, but apart from the videoclip, which is going to be released on march 20, amongst the others there is our new EP “Light Up The World” which will be available in digital stores, and live gigs in physical format, from march 27 on. We’re also in the creative process of composing new songs in order to record a full length album, and we’re almost done with many of them, so stay tuned and follow us if you want some news about it. Last but not least, as we said before, the outcome of looking for gigs (and the shows we played) is many more events to participate in. In fact we’re going to face some really busy months! The tour dates will be available on our Facebook page, so go and check it out!
How much important is the image (look) for your band? Why?
Well, image IS important. Is a communication way as important as the music itself. Otherwise there would not be arts such as painting, photography or fashion industry which can be considered an art itself. In movies we won’t have costume designers. This proofs that image is important. If you go looking for a job in a classical orchestra, but you look like Ronald McDonald, don’t expect to get that job.
What’s your idea of perfect happiness?
Walking down the road and hearing someone whistling our songs. That would be priceless.
Who are some of the bands you admire?
Well, we love really many different kinds of music, but we all agree about Sum 41, Foo Fighters and Muse among the others. Of course we are all differently influenced and this definitely is what brings out a different and personal style when we’re composing.
What song is in your head right now?
Bodo: “Sick Of Everyone” from “Screamy Bloody Murder” – Sum 41”
Neek: “New day” from “Sound Awake” – Karnivool
Aleph: “Hurt” from “Halo 8: The Downward Spiral” – Nine Inch Nails
Mux: “Fix You” from “X&Y” – Coldplay
Name 3 words that describe your band.
Dynamic, Energetic, Worth.
The best and worst quality of your band?
Probably our extreme versatility in music is our best quality, which is also the worst quality when it comes to make choices during the composition process.
What’s the most embarrassing situation you’ve ever been with Mutter Dog?
We went to a benefit gig organized by the local church and the flyers reported our name as “MutterGod” instead of “MutterDog”. We still laugh about it.
What’s the most ridiculous rumour you’ve read about the band?
At the end of a live show, that we really nailed almost perfect, many people came to us and asked if we were using playback. Of course not, but that was a huge satisfaction for us all.
Do you’ve a good reason to be in Behind Magazine?
It’s an awesome magazine and to us it’s an honor to be in it! Most of all Neek is a big fan of your magazine, ’cause of its interest in snowboarding.
